The Public Prosecutor’s Office, through the Section for Crimes against Sexual Liberty and Integrity and Gender Violence of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor’s Office, managed to get the Superior Court of Appeals to confirm the precautionary measure of provisional detention for a 43-year-old former official of age, charged with the crimes of corruption of minors, child pornography, sexual relations with a person over 14 years of age and under 18 years of age.
At the appeal hearing, prosecutor Sayreth De Obaldía managed to demonstrate before the Superior Court of Appeals that the former official represents a danger to the community and due to the possible destruction of evidence, for which the magistrates determined that this person should remain in custody.
This investigation began due to a complaint filed by a relative of the victim in the Primary Care Section of Colón and Guna Yala, when videos of an adult having sexual relations with a minor were released on social networks.
Subsequently, on November 18, 2022, through a search procedure in the Colón district, the National Police apprehended this citizen, when required for the crime against sexual freedom and integrity.
