The Executive Directorate of National Institute of Student Welfare (Inabie) ensures that all the bidding processes it has executed, including those for textile production, are intended to impact national production in a transparent manner, in accordance with Law 340-06 on Public Procurement and Contracting.
With this statement, he denies that he is promoting imports of school clothing, as has been stated by the Dominican Association of Textile Industries (Aditex) in some media.
INABIE reiterates that it cannot assign lots to a supplier that has not specifically participated and won in them because it would be incurring in a distribution and not in a tender.

He assured that the awarded suppliers participated in a transparent and competitive bidding process in which it was verified that they have the operational capacity to honor the contract signed with the institute.
“If someone has a responsible complaint about a specific case, they can document it and after our investigation we will take the necessary measures. The contracts have faithful compliance policies that we would be executing in case of non-compliance”, highlighted the director Victor castro.
The institution also reiterates its openness and willingness to dialogue, always attached to transparency and compliance with the law, which are two fundamental pillars of the current Executive Directorate.
