In the management balance, Minister Cristiane Britto highlighted the importance of the elderly population for the portfolio. “The experiences acquired over the years need to be recognized as essential values for human beings. Ensuring the maintenance and quality of services offered to the elderly was a priority in this management and, therefore, our investment in quality of life, health and guarantee of rights programs were highlighted”, said, in a note, the minister.

Cristiane recalled the investment in the maintenance of Long Stay Institutions for the Elderly during the covid-19 pandemic. “Keeping seniors safe and ensuring their health was of utmost importance to us in that scenario. For this, we launched the Solidarize-se action, carried out in two stages. Regarding the other investments, the national secretary for the Promotion and Defense of the Rights of the Elderly, Antônio Costa, listed the deliveries made. “Our management worked hard to seek and maintain the quality of life of the elderly. I highlight the Viver – Active and Healthy Aging Program as one of the most transformative in terms of scope and benefits. This, added to other actions, made our public policies reach where they were really needed”, said the secretary.
