The Nobel Prize for Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa, spoke about the failed coup of State, generated by former President Pedro Castillo. Through a video he appeared excited to act in the Army.
Vargas Llosa condemned the “attempt by President Pedro Castillo to stage a coup.” But he also congratulated the Army’s decision to refuse to participate with him. “To the Peruvian military, congratulate them for having identified with the laws and for having rejected the role of comparsas.”
The writer welcomed the “quick” way in which the “coup attempt” was contained, stressing that it is very important not to “repeat once again what happened with Fujimori two years after he took office.”
Also, he took the opportunity to send a message to the first president of Peru. “I think that what you have to ask of Dina Boluarte is that she form a cabinet with a broad base, in which all Peruvians feel represented.”
