Elon Musk briefly lost status richest person in the world this wednesdayaccording to Forbes.
The owner of Twitter and head of Tesla, among other companies, left that place after betting $44 billion on the social network. In addition, he took a sharp drop in the value of his stake in the electric vehicle maker.
Who took first place was Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, the parent company of the luxury brand Louis Vuitton. He earned the top spot with a personal net worth of $185.4 billion, Forbes reported.
Musk, who also owns the rocket company SpaceX, has been at the top of the Forbes list of the world’s richest since September 2021. He has a net worth of $185.3 billion. Who occupied the first place until then is the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.
As reported by Reuters, Musk’s net worth fell below $200 billion on November 8. At that time, investors dumped Tesla shares out of concern that the mogul was more worried about Twitter, where a lot of news has emerged about the new way he would approach the social platform.
