Microsoft promises to release Call of Duty on Nintendo consoles, if it manages to acquire Activision Blizzard

video game franchise “Call of Duty” will be available on consoles Nintendo if Microsoft manages to acquire the US publisher Activision Blizzarddeclared this Wednesday a person in charge of the American company.

Microsoft, which markets the console Xboxannounced in January the acquisition of the American publisher Activision Blizzard for 69,000 million dollars, but the project is in the crosshairs of the competition authorities of the United States and Europe.

Regulators fear the acquisition will allow Microsoft to shut down access to Activision Blizzard’s video games on competing platforms.

Apart from “Call of Duty”, the publisher developed extremely popular games such as “world of warcraft” either “Candy Crush“.

“Microsoft wants to offer more games to more people, choose how they choose to play,” Phil Spencer, head of the US giant’s games division, defended himself on Twitter on Wednesday.

Microsoft made a commitment to provide Call of Duty to Nintendo for ten years following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King.”

For Serkan Toto of Tokyo-based review firm Kantan Games, the announcement is a clear “publicity coup” for the timing of it.

The US Federal Trade Commission, the authority that oversees consumer safety, will review the acquisition on Thursday, multiple media reported.

The European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, opened an investigation into the operation in early November. So has the British competition agency.
