The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belize, John Antonio Briceño, on the occasion of the signing of the agreements between the two countries, in order to deepen cooperation alliances and generate integration mechanisms for strengthen joint work in strategic areas.
The meeting was held under the principles of friendship, equality and shared benefit, where they addressed a complementarity agenda that prioritizes issues of binational interest, in the spirit of the new multicentric and multipolar world.
For his part, the Head of State reported that it is expected to start a new agenda to resume Petrocaribe, an initiative based on the principles of solidarity, respect and self-determination of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples.
In this sense, he expressed that “it is time to multiply happiness, work, wealth, humility and love, for the union of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples.”

On the other hand, His Excellency Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and support for the cooperation between the two nations, stressing that even though Belize is a small country, it will continue to add Venezuela to what it can.
In addition to this, he added that although Venezuela is sanctioned by the US, the National President, together with his team, resists and advances, which shows that Venezuela works to protect the people.
It should be noted that the diplomatic rapprochement between the two countries has been maintained since April 25, 1989 and they have also maintained an exchange of knowledge in the textile and agricultural areas since 2020.
