Argimón inaugurated a show that seeks to raise awareness about breast cancer

Organized by the Hilo Rosa Foundation and the Club de Leones Buceo, the exhibition is part of the project “Through my skin” with the support of the Association of Make-up Artists of Uruguay and the “Shhh” Artistic Collective.

Argimón linked the Foundation this Monday with reflection and commitment. Argimón pointed out that the sample reflects “a situation that belongs to the Community, which must accompany instances of these characteristics, being that, for women, they live and feel in a special way, aware that with prevention many compatriots can save their lives if they go to the professionals once a year, and we must all insist on telling women that it is their right to take care of themselves.

In the exhibition, in the hall of the José Artigas building attached to the Legislative Palace, each painting reflects each one of twelve women -cancer patients- who “live the experience and, for the first time carried out in Uruguay, of capturing through body art the path taken in their naked torsos, thus generating a visual and artistic impact on breast cancer” (note from the Hilo Rosa Foundation).

“In the recent pandemic, women were postponed because they put the care of others first; once the pandemic is over, it is necessary for women to resume their check-ups, that is why there is a law that establishes a day of leave, with pay, to carry out medical check-ups ”. Regarding the sample, he stressed that it is a message of hope and affection.

The Foundation’s objective is to guide, accompany and provide support to cancer patients and their family environment, working on three pillars such as body, soul and mind, in order to travel this path of improvement through different therapies and tools.

The meeting was attended by members of the Hilo Rosa Foundation, its founder and President, Dr. Claudia Ferme, as well as members of the Diving Lions Club and the general public.
