Author of a goal and an assist, Mexican forward Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano led the victory 2-0 for Napoli against Empoli (14th), a result that keeps the Neapolitans as outstanding leaders of the Italian Serie A.
The Mexican international was not a starter, but he jumped onto the pitch after the hour mark (minute 64) and revolutionized a game that was getting very complicated against a rival who was very well organized in defence.
Lozano opened the scoring converting a penalty for a foul on Nigerian Victor Oshimen (69) and later caused the expulsion of Empoli defender Sebastiano Luperto, for a mistimed tackle that cost him the second yellow card (74).
The team led by Luciano Spalletti took advantage of their numerical superiority to close sentences to the end (88), when Lozano overflowed by band and centered for Piotr Zielinski to score the final 2-0.
Only undefeated team in Serie A (12 wins and two draws), Napoli have ten consecutive wins, equaling the second best streak in their history (in 2017-2018).
The entity’s absolute record dates back to 2017 with 13 consecutive winswhen the team was led on the bench by Maurizio Sarri.
With this victory, Napoli add 38 points, nine more than Milan, who visit Cremonese this Tuesday (18th).
