“We will support Arthur Lira with the guarantee that he will help us and work to have our Senate president”, said Valdemar. “We have to compose in the House to succeed in the Senate.”
Commanded by Costa Neto, the PL came out strengthened in this year’s elections. In the Chamber of Deputies, of the 513 seats, the party won 99. In the Senate, the PL overcame the MDB, which for more than three decades was the largest party in the House, and was the most victorious at the polls.
