The National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (Inefop) reported that it had 1,500 places available for motorcycle and bicycle delivery men from all over the country to be trained in road safety. Security elements, defensive driving and light mechanics are some of the contents of the 12-hour courses, officials of the aforementioned agency revealed.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) relaunched, this Monday 7, at the headquarters of that ministry, the training on road safety for motorcycle and bicycle delivery men, which is carried out by Inefop, in compliance with decree No. 327/19 , from November 4, 2019.
Participating in the activity were the General Labor Inspector, Tomás Teijeiro; the director of Inefop, Pablo Darscht; that of the National Road Safety Unit (Unasev), Mauricio Viera; the representative of the business chambers, Pablo Durán, and that of the Uruguayan Federation of Commerce and Services Employees, Fabio Riverón.
In the oratory, Viera pointed out that there are 1,500 training sessions for delivery men on bicycles and motorcycles. “Greater safety on public roads means greater road safety. Instructing and informing about security elements”, he considered.
Darsch added that the quotas are distributed in 75 courses, which will be held throughout the country, in three days of 12 hours in total. The contents refer to defensive driving, optimal vehicle conditions for driving and light mechanics, among other aspects. Participants will access the use of simulators.
