For the construction they are using, explained Rolando Rojas, two construction techniques. One of them is the execution of micropiles of two diameters, and the second “screen walls of 1m thick and 27 meters deep on average”.

“Subway stations consist of box-type structures (closed) that contain the thrust of the ground and surrounding structures. The function of the micropiles is to support the foundations of the nearby houses, mitigating the risk of the land and the houses collapsing,” he assured.
In the same way, he affirmed that the use of the diaphragm wall technique does not affect the foundations of the surrounding houses.
“The advantage of using this technique is the safety for the environment and the speed with which it is built if we compare it with other traditional construction processes that have been used in Peru until now,” he added.
