Through Mayoral Decree No. 023 of October 17, 2022, the capital municipality
established a special and temporary schedule for the operations of the centers for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the District of Panama.
According to the entity for Thursday, November 3, the nightlife sites will be able to operate from 12:01 in the morning until 6:00 in the morning.
Meanwhile, on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, they will maintain their regular schedule and until 6:00 in the morning of the following day.
On Tuesday, November 9 and Sunday, November 27, they will also be able to extend their activity until 6 in the morning of the following day.
The director of Legal and Justice of the Mayor’s Office of Panama, Eldis Barnes, explained that the measure tries to support the activity of this sector “which we know was hit hard during the covid-19 pandemic.”
The document decrees that the special schedule applies only to commercial establishments that have a valid night permit, issued by the Mayor’s Office of Panama.
The National Police, the Municipal Surveillance Agents, the Municipal Inspectors, the compliance officers and Justices of the Peace, are commissioned to enforce the mayor’s rule and are empowered to order, if necessary, the eviction of the area in cases that warrant it. .
This decree will enter into force at the time of its promulgation in the Official Gazette.
