The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Sunday morning the daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 5,432 new cases of Covid-19 and 14 deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. Active cases reached 15,351.
Of the 5,432 new cases of Covid-19, 2,978 correspond to symptomatic people and 698 do not present symptoms.
The new confirmed cases at the national level showed a variation of 38% in the last week, as well as in the last 14 days. Meanwhile, all regions maintain the number of confirmed cases in the last 7 and 14 days.
As for deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 14 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 61,549 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 37,721 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 45,890,908 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 13.8% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 17.1%.
To date, 104 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 66 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 261 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
