Justice on Tuesday sentenced two people in relation to the seizure of 340 kilos of cocaine, which occurred last weekend in Rivera, and whose value was estimated by the authorities at more than US $ 10 million.
One of the condemned is a young man who was directly involved in the business and must comply five and a half years in prison. His father, who was the tenant of the farm where the drug cache was found, was in turn convicted of assisting in drug trafficking, and received a sentence of 24 months in prison. This was indicated to The Observer the prosecutor in the case, Ignacio Montedeocar.
An adolescent was implicated in the case, who was also classified for the crime of assistance and who ended up collaborating with the investigation, which will continue in search of clarifying the identity of the owners of the shipment, who are presumed to be foreigners.
The 340 kilos of seized cocaine, of high purity, will be destroyed in the next few hours.
