Former President Jeanine Áñez denounced this Tuesday that her rights and health are “violated” by the government of Luis Arce and, in this context, urged international organizations to intercede in her case after rejecting the visit of a Legislative Assembly commission to the which he described as “political.”
“Before the announcement of the visit of the Human Rights Commission of the Parliament, I express my rejection of it, being that it is a political commission that does not come to watch over my Human Rights much less to be concerned about my health,” says a note that wrote in the Miraflores women’s prison in La Paz.
Añez has been imprisoned since March 2020 for the cases of “coup d’état I” and “coup d’état II” referring to the crisis of 2019 and her assumption of power after the resignation of Evo Morales to the presidency of the country amid the conflicts derived from the annulment of the presidential elections due to allegations of fraud.
“I require international organizations that are accredited and that truly care about my health and physical integrity to help me recover all my rights that have been stolen and violated by the government of Luis Arce, rights that correspond to me like any other citizen. and in my case as former President of State, “said Añez.
In this context, he denounced to the international community that his human rights and health are “violated” by the “elite” of the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS).

“I cry out to the international community that my human rights and my health are violated by the government of Luis Arce, Evo Morales, the masista elite and the ‘Bolivian Justice’,” the president wrote.
In an interview with Página Siete, the ex-president revealed that in 2019 Arce was desperate to leave the country and that the transitional government gave him the safe conduct he required. He regretted that now, on the other hand, the head of state enjoys seeing her imprisoned.
She also revealed that after assuming the presidency, several members of the current government of Luis Arce sought her out. Among them, the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, who called her “President”, assured the ex-governor.
