The mayor of Providencia, Evelyn Matthei, announced a project that seeks to carry out improvements and interventions in the sectors of Plaza Baquedano, Balmaceda Park, Bustamante Park Literary Café and the Bicentennial Fountain.
The communal chief explained that the objective of these works is that the neighbors of the sector, in addition to the people who pass through there, can reuse these spaces that were damaged during the social outbreak.
The project has an estimated value of $31 million pesos for the Plaza Baquedano roundabout, on this Matthei indicated that “we ask the Government to help us protect it, but we do not have to go ask other municipalities for money, especially all because Providencia has more resources than them.

Construction is expected to begin in that place the week of October 24, where they will install 968 M2 of grass with low water consumption, 405 M2 of sorghum and 496 M2 of sustainable gardens will be planted.
In addition, work will be carried out to clean up graffiti in all areas near Plaza Baquedano.
As for the Literary Café, it was at the end of September of this year that the rehabilitation works began, the amount of which exceeds 43 thousand UF and it is expected that in the second half of 2023 the venue will be fully operational.
Finally, on the “Bicentennial” water and light fountain, installed in the Plaza de la Aviación, repairs and improvements began in June 2022, which will have a total value of $685 million.
