Journalist Valentina Larrosa published screenshots of the Instagram account “pcr.uruguay” that offered “negative pcr in the day for US $ 20”. In one of the published stories, the negative result of a PCR performed in the Atgen laboratory appeared.
Atgen, in addition to Montevideo, has test stations in Piriápolis, Solanas, Enjoy Conrad, Manantiales and La Paloma. On January 3, the director of the laboratory, Andrés Abín, told The Observer that the number of swabs in Maldonado had doubled since the start of the season.
Maldonado currently has 3,346 active cases and has registered long lines to be tested for covid-19.
