A control judge granted Charrez to change the preventive detention in the Cereso de Pachuca for home detention for health reasons.
Charrez is accused of causing the death of a 21-year-old man. The young man was stopped at a traffic light and was trapped in his car, a Pointer, after he was hit by the then deputy’s truck.
The victim was unable to get out of the vehicle that caught fire, so he burned to death in the early hours of October 6, 2018 on the Mexico-Laredo Highway, in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo. The legislator withdrew from the scene of the accident with the help of another person who assisted him to get out of his vehicle.
The Hidalgo Attorney General’s Office, the state Charrez represented, asked the Chamber of Deputies to withdraw the jurisdiction and it was approved by the legislators in March 2019.
