Families affected by the hailstorm of last Tuesday (4), in Petrópolis, in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro, will receive aid of R$ 2 thousand, in a single installment, to pay the expenses with tiles and roofs. broken by hail.
The aid was announced this Thursday (6) by Mayor Rubens Bomtempo. “It was a weather phenomenon that took over Pedro do Rio. It was scary. There are dozens of families that had unexpected damages with this hailstorm. Damage to tiles, roofs and everything that was wet by rainwater, such as mattresses and furniture. These families are in a hurry,” said the mayor.
As of this Friday (7), the Social Assistance Secretariat will have a base set up in the regional administration of Pedro do Rio, registering, together with the Civil Defense Secretariat, the residents of the houses affected by the hailstorm. Registration will take place until Sunday (9). Payment is expected to be made next Tuesday (11).

The Secretary of Civil Defense placed tarpaulins on the roofs that were damaged. And the Department of Social Assistance provided the families with mattresses, blankets, kits of hygiene and water, according to the needs of each case.
