The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice declared it appropriate to request Chile to send to Venezuela through the extradition procedure Hernán David Landaeta Garlotti (El Satan), who was one of the gunmen of the Aragua Train.
The decision is in sentence No. 261 written by Judge Elsa Gómez Moreno, where it is stated that the Chamber verified compliance with the requirements imposed by the general principles on extradition.
Alias El Satan, 25 years old, is required by the 2nd Court of Control of Aragua where they opened a file for intentional homicide qualified as immediate cooperator.
The homicide victim is Willians Roberto González Martínez, who was practically shot by a group of individuals, including Landaeta Garlotti.
The murder of González Martínez occurred on April 13, 2015 in an alley in the La Ovallera sector, Palo Negro, Aragua. González Martínez was cornered by El Satan, José Miguel Rojas Méndez (El Che), Zabdiel Daniel Useche Suárez, Yeison Alexander Sequera Medina (Chespi) and Yoser Manuel Mena Fernández, who shot him with various firearms until he died, he says. sentence.
The month after that event, prosecutor Ingrid del Valle Piña Guaraco requested an arrest warrant against alias El Satan, which was agreed on that same date by the 2nd Court of Control of Aragua. Already for those days, The Satan had fled from Venezuela.
Seven years later, the Public Ministry, represented by the prosecutor Oscaily del Valle Núñez Montoya, requested to activate the extradition process to bring El Satan to Venezuela. Such request was approved on June 17, 2022, according to the sentence issued by Blanca Guaicara Galea, judge of the 2nd Court of Control of Aragua.
That extradition request was annulled by the Criminal Chamber on July 20, because the Public Ministry did not specify where alias El Satan had been detained. In one paragraph they said that he was captured in Chile and in another he claimed to have been arrested in Peru.
On September 20, the Criminal Chamber received a new request for extradition where the Public Ministry specified that alias El Satan is being held in Chile, after being arrested on March 23 by the Iquique Anti-Narcotics and Organized Crime Brigade. for the crime of kidnapping. In addition to this, the subject has another Interpol red notice filed by Peru where he is allegedly involved in attempted homicide.
The magistrates left reflected in the sentence that Venezuela assumes the commitment to prosecute the criminal “with due guarantees.”
