ASU 2022: Paraguay reacts on time and starts with victory in women’s basketball

Hoy Paraguay

Cerro Porteño took the lead a few minutes from the end and celebrated a valuable victory for matchday 15 against Sportivo Ameliano, whom they defeated 2-1 this Wednesday at Nueva Olla to secure their place at the top of the Torneo Clausura.

After the annulment of a goal by Fernando Romero via VAR (offside) that could have already meant the opening of the scoreboard after 6 minutes, the Barça cast had to wait a good stretch to go ahead.

At 30 minutes, Federico Carrizo ‘managed’ to make it 1-0 for the homeowner.

But after an interruption of about 10 minutes due to problems with a light tower, the match was complicated by a Blue ‘V’ that had the great opportunity to match the story after a penalty foul, also marked with a VAR review, committed by Alexis Duarte .

Alex Arce executed a great shot from 11 meters and, in stoppage time of the first stage (45+3′), sealed the 1-1.

The second half passed for the most part and the result remained even, but victory came from the substitutes’ bench: Alberto Espínola, at 88′, emerged as the scorer and scored the final 2-1 for Ciclón.

Thus, Cerro reaped his fourth consecutive win and climbed to 34 points in the Clausura, which he will continue to lead for at least one more date. Depending on what Nacional does tomorrow (vs. Sol de América), it will remain as the only pointer or will share the top again.

Ameliano, for his part, continues with 17 units in the tournament but above all remains submerged in the relegation zone in the averages.
