Santiago. – The National Institute of Hydraulic Resourcess reported that the repair work on the Ulises Francisco Espaillat (UFE) channel at station 6.50, located in the Cienfuegos sector of this city, is progressing at a good pace.
Previously, the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CORAASAN) repaired the pipeline rainwater that crosses the channel, which suffered a breakage and caused damage to one of the tiles.
The agency also reported that the repair of other tiles that are in poor condition is being accelerated. Likewise, he specified that the extraction of sediments will be carried out in a sector of one kilometer in length.
Said repair responds to the precise instructions of the executive director of INDRHI, Olmedo Caba Romano, who ordered that work be carried out in consecutive shifts to replace the irrigation that was suspended due to the work in the shortest possible time.
The intervention carried out affects the water intakes with the interruption of the aqueducts of Cienfuegos, La Canela and Villa González I and II.
On his side, the director of CORAASAN, Andrés Burgos, indicated that they will be giving support to the communities that are without water, and working in coordination for the rapid repair of the fault.
The works of INDRHI and CORAASAN were carried out in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Santiago Oeste.
