The União Brasil candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Soraya Thronicke, voted late this Sunday morning (2) at the Professor Arassuay Gomes de Castro Municipal School, in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. The candidate said that, considering the relevant government project of her party, it would be “omission or cowardice” not to participate in the current presidential elections.
“Today is the feast of democracy. I still believe that we live in a democracy, and that we know how to discuss politics with urbanity and respect, because those who don’t have arguments scream; who doesn’t understand anything, screams. We don’t need to scream and disrespect others to deal with politics”, said the candidate when she arrived at her electoral college.
Asked about the possibility of her party supporting another candidate in the second round, Soraya said that “not even behind the scenes the party talks about tomorrow”, and that the group has a government project that has carried the same banners since 2018.
Therefore, he added, “it would be an omission or a great cowardice not to participate in the elections. We have a position to show. These are flags that we deliver daily in our congressional votes,” he added.
The candidate expressed optimism, despite her name being far from the candidates who, according to polls, are ahead in the presidential race. “Anything could happen. A survey is a snapshot of a location where people were interviewed. We have to see the whole movie, not just the photo,” she concluded.
