Firefighters and those affected by the fires received medical assistance in Roboré

In the areas of Roboré where unfortunately there is still fire, forest firefighters and residents of communities surrounding the fires received medical care through a rapid response team from the Safci – My Health program and the Risk and Disaster Management Unit (Ugred ) of the Ministry of Health and Sports, which also has the support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), within the framework of the ECHO-Chiquitanía project, which receives funding from the Union European.

The most benefited from this attention were the forest firefighters and soldiers of the Bolivian Army.which day by day carry out firefighting tasks in the communities of Aguas Calientes, San Lorenzo, Limoncito and Quitunuquiña, from the municipality of Roboré.

Since the fires began, the most common pathologies, both among firefighters, soldiers and residents are: conjunctivitis, mycosis, pyoderma and low back pain.

The medical brigades carried tactical backpacks and first-aid kits with medicines and health materials, to attend in a timely manner to the teams that are on the front line fighting the fire, as well as to the affected residents.
