The Minister of the Interior, Louis Albert Hebersaid this Thursday that his portfolio intends to put 2,000 new cameras in Montevideo to combat crime.

“Our aspiration is to issue a tender as soon as possible to put 2 thousand more cameras in Montevideo in these areas”pointed out Heber in a meeting with neighbors held in the Penarol neighborhood, recorded by MVD Noticias (TV Ciudad).

The chief pointed out that the goal is for them to be cameras “that look at each other” and described them as “anti-vandalism”. “If we have to put in a few more pesos, we will put them in,” she added.
