Operation Thunder
The Tren del Llano is a criminal organization founded by Gilberto Malony there in the town of Altagracia de Orituco, bordering Guárico and Miranda, where he collected vaccines from agricultural producers.
Subsequently, the group was contacted by Colombian drug trafficking organizations, for which reason its leader moved to the town of San Juan de Unare (Sucre) with the purpose of preparing the logistics for the transfer of drug caches from that point to the Caribbean islands, according to research. The Malony was shot down in November of last year in the aforementioned town of Sucre.
Once the leader of the Tren del Llano was killed, his lieutenants began a process of expansion through Guárico, for which they founded a cell in the Pedro Zaraza municipality from where they organize criminal actions in neighboring towns of the Llano entity and Anzoátegui.
Three weeks ago, the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace launched Operation Thunder IV in eastern Guárico to dismantle the aforementioned criminal organization.
