President Jair Bolsonaro has said he will recreate the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Services if he is re-elected. He participated in a sabbath during the Convention of the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Abras), through videoconference, this Tuesday (20).
“Yes, we are interested in recreating the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Services. And the person who will occupy this ministry would be indicated by you. I believe that these issues would be much better managed, so that I could deal with your suggestions more directly and more quickly. The benefits of this good administration are really welcome,” Bolsonaro told businesspeople in the sector.
According to the president, the matter of dismembering the Ministry of Economy has already been discussed with Minister Paulo Guedes, who did not oppose the idea.
“This ministry, when it was merged, with four others, passed to the command of Paulo Guedes. I have talked to him and we have no difficulty in recreating this Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Services. I believe that this policy could be conducted better this way, despite all the merit of Paulo Guedes and the zeal he has for the sector”, declared Bolsonaro.
The president spoke by videoconference directly from New York, where he was to participate in the opening of the work of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
