The judge of the municipality of Yapacaní, María Luisa Saavedra, ordered preventive detention in the Montero prison for Juan Enrique GB, who was accused of whipping his two-year-old daughter and leaving her with 13 days of disability.

It was the mother of the minor, Viviana MM, who filed the complaint with the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv), after find her daughter crying and with bruises on her back inside his home, located in the town of Santa Fe.

According to the woman’s account, she arrived home after work and realized the fact, so she complained to her partner Juan Enrique, and he told her that “I had only hit the baby twice with the belt because he didn’t want to eat and had preferred to use the cell phone”.

For this aggression Viviana decided to end a six-year relationship with his partner and asked that he be sanctioned in accordance with current laws. In addition, she took her two-year-old daughter to a health center where the doctors gave her 13 days of disability.

The Yapacani Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendant with the crime of family and domestic violence and this afternoon, during a hearing, Judge María Luisa Saavedra determined that he be sent to the Montero prison as a preventive measure.
