The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau, summoned the representatives of the Frente de Todos blocs and the opposition for this Tuesday to discuss how the debate on the Budget 2023.
The project formally entered Congress last Thursday for approval. Consequently, the debate on the Budget 2023 It will begin in October and will include the participation of the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, who will present the document.
Under this framework, Moreau summoned the blocks and the authorities of the Budget Commission chaired by Carlos Heller, to establish what the work schedule will be to debate the Budget 2023.
The meeting will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the office of the President of the Lower House. The intention of the ruling party is to reach a consensus with the blocs opponents of Together for Change, the Federal and United Provinces interblocks, the Ser block, the Neuquén Popular Movement, the two blocks on the right and the left.
According to official sources, one of the issues to be discussed will be to establish the mechanism for the round of consultations, after the Minister of Economy makes the presentation of the main axes of the project of expenses and resources.
Once the debate has begun, the Government hopes that Congress will approve its initiative between the end of October and the beginning of November, since last year Parliament denied the approval of the 2022 budget.
In this sense, Massa argued that the project prepared for next year presents a “realistic budget”, and that it will seek the support of all the blocks so that the proposal achieves consensus and is approved.
What does the 2023 Budget propose?
Among the goals that the Government hopes to achieve a primary deficit goal of 1.9 is contemplated, as agreed with the IMF (International Monetary Fund), inflation of 60% and growth of 2% by 2023.
In addition, it is expected that, by next December, the official dollar will be at $166.50 and, in this sense, next year it will cost $269.90, with an average of $219 throughout the year.
