This Friday the 16th in the morning, the censored Minister of Transport and Communications, Geiner Alvaradowent to the National Prosecutor’s Office to expand his statement on the investigation for his alleged participation in a criminal organization that would be led by President Pedro Castillo, after being censored this Thursday.
On the same Thursday the 15th, the Public Ministry finalized the decision to request the exit impediment; Given this, the lawyer Percy Ipanaqué, defender of Geiner Alvarado, said that the censored minister would attend the summons scheduled for this Friday and would comply with the requirement of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“The position of the defense of Mr. Alvarado is respectful of the powers of the Public Ministry, which is requesting an exit impediment before the Court, for which (Alvarado) already announces that he is going to acquiesce to the request, since he does not has the minimum intention of hindering the investigation,” he said.
Geiner Alvarado has repeatedly gone to the Prosecutor’s Office to provide statements on the investigation against him, which is linked to his management as Minister of Housing. The censored minister is accused of being a member of a criminal network headed by Pedro Castillo, which would have benefited from contracts for works in Cajamarca and Lima.

This measure was approved with 94 votes in favor, 14 against and eight abstentions. The reason for the censorship was the investigation that Alvarado currently has against him, in charge of the Special Team led by Marita Barreto.
The groups that mostly supported this measure were Avanza País, Renovación Popular, Alianza para el Progreso, Acción Popular and Somos Perú; while the Bloc Magisterial and Cambio Democrático group opposed the initiative.
