From 7:00 am this Thursday, the National Police destroyed 15,257 firearms of various calibers from January 2020 to December 2021.
The security establishment revealed that this is the last firearms destruction ceremony to take place this year.
In 2021, 10 firearms destruction ceremonies were held, according to the National Police.
In this tenth ceremony, 1,000 firearms were destroyed, which were confiscated during various operations carried out this year at the national level.
The breakdown is as follows: 120 pistols, 127 revolvers, 71 rifles, 53 rifles, 18 machine guns, 4 submachine guns, 285 shotguns, and 22 pellets.
The weapons were destroyed at the headquarters of the National Police, in Ancón.
