Colonel’s Lawyer Harvey ColchadoLuis Naldos, considered it unlikely that the decision that sought to remove his client from the headquarters of the Search Division (Divbus) of the National Police could not have been taken without the knowledge of the highest officials of the Ministry of the Interior.
In statements to RPP, the lawyer said that decisions made by trusted personnel that may or may not materialize would not draw so much attention if it were not for the context in which we are talking about the police colonel who is being attacked by the Executive after having participated in the raid on the residence of the Government Palace.
“In our opinion, a decision of this nature could not have been made on its own initiative by the director of intelligence, but would have had to be communicated to the senior leadership of the Ministry of the Interior,” he asserted.
Luis Naldos recalled that the memorandum that communicated Colchado’s departure from the Divbus headquarters was signed by the Director of Intelligence, Luis Erasmo Sánchez Lira, who reports to the General Directorate of Intelligence and who, in turn, reports to the Vice Ministry of Intelligence. Internal Order.
However, he stressed that before the official statement, Harvey Colchado had already learned, through unofficial means, that it was intended to remove him from the people search division. This made him meet the Ombudsman, Eliana Revollar, with whom he spoke during the course of Monday the 12th.
“In this meeting, Colonel Colchado reported that he had been unofficially told that he was going to be relieved of his position as Digimin Search Chief and that he had not received the resources since the beginning of September”he warned.
