Chile Vamos referred to the first “pre-agreements” signed for the new constituent process.
This, after the second meeting between the different political forces and the Government to agree on the formula for the elaboration of a new Constitution. That the Magna Carta be drawn up by a 100% elected body is the first of the common points.
One of the people who valued the “agreement” was the spokeswoman for La Moneda, Camila Vallejo, who indicated that “as a government we are very happy with the consensus and results that the different political parties are achieving, so that the word pledged is fulfilled.” .
For the members of Chile Vamos, the president of RN, Francisco Chahuán; president of the UDI, Javier Macaya; and the president of Evópoli, Luz Poblete, these agreements are not such.
“We are working and dialoguing with different political and social forces to propose a mechanism that ensures broad approval in a ratifying plebiscite with a mandatory vote,” they said.
“Thus, we intuit that we must advance to a mixed mechanism that brings these elements together and ensures the necessary support to truly be a home for all,” they added.
That is why, “in view of the foregoing, we consider regrettable the declarations of government ministers and officials of the ruling party who seek to precipitate results, putting the talks and agreements under way at risk.”
“We want to be clear: we will continue to work decisively, cautiously and responsibly, slowly but surely, to reach the agreements that are needed, which have not yet been finalized,” they pointed out.
“Announcing agreements that have not yet been signed threatens trust and the collaborative spirit, to the point of evaluating the relevance of the paths offered. Seeking short-term objectives is not consistent with the spirit that prevails in the parties of Chile Vamos. We make a call to reflection, so that this process is transparent and responsible, in order to be up to the task that Chileans entrust to us”, they concluded.
