The negotiations between the benches to elect the next president of congress after the censorship against Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress) they run their course. For now, this Thursday the 8th, the candidacy of José Elías Ávalos (Podemos Peru) Y Edgar Raymundo (Democratic Change). The letter left in the main office is signed by José Luna Gálvez.
Another option that has been made public, from Acción Popular, is that of Luis Aragón. “There has been a vote in the bench and he has been elected. It is our cover letter, let’s see if others are added”, declared the legislator José Arriola.
Arriola indicated that Aragón, these days, is talking to representatives of other parliamentary groups to ask for your support. He added that he will still participate in the election scheduled for Monday and that “if for any reason” he does not get the votes to access the second round, AP, with its 14 votes, will have to evaluate which competing option to support.
“You know that in this first stage it is common for three or four possibilities to apply,” Arriola said.
It should be noted that Aragón competed in the internal AP bench with his colleagues Edwin Martínez (placed second) and Karol Paredes (placed third). That means that there has been no consensus around the figure of Aragon. Therefore, according to AP sources, there is always the possibility that there will be dissenting votes on Monday.
