This Thursday the man who attacked the president of the Central Board of Directors (Codicen) Robert Silva, appeared before the prosecution to testify about it and, in his words, expressed regret for the incident.
According to what was reported by the Director of Communication of the Prosecutor’s Office, Javier Benech, the person showed his willingness to reach a reparation agreement before the officials of the 8th Shift Flagrancy Prosecutor’s Office.
“The person was repentant and with the possibility of reaching some type of reparation as a way to solve the conflict. That is being explored, it is not yet defined because the investigation continues, “explained Benech.
The agression
The incident occurred last Friday, September 2, outside the Centro Cultural Oeste 11, in the Closed from Montevideo. Silva was present at the site to discuss the student reform that he plans to carry out in the country by 2023.
At the time of leaving the premises, rispideces were generated at the entrance door. When the president of Codicen was heading for the van, the assailant broke the window of the vehicle, hitting him with a thermos.
The Director of Communication explained that this Thursday’s instance was not a hearing. This is because the case is barely in the preliminary investigation stage and the Prosecutor’s Office is still working on collecting evidence and elements.
This Wednesday the Student Center of the Maritime School (Ceema) recognized that the aggressor is part of his group. In the text of the document they released, they justified the actions of the man in the attitude of the authorities present at the event, as well as the actions of those who provided security to them.
