The national chancellor, Julio César Arriola, traveled to Rome, Italy, to adjust the details of the participation of the President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, in the investiture ceremony of Monsignor Adalberto Martínez, as the first Paraguayan cardinal.
According to what was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the minister traveled to the Italian capital to prepare the president’s participation in the ceremony for the imposition of the cap and cardinal’s ring on Archbishop Adalberto Martínez.
The event will take place on Saturday in the Basilica of San Pedro, at 10:00, it will be public, so it is estimated that many Paraguayans living in Italy and other European countries will participate in the event.
The trip of the president and the first lady, Silvana Abdo, will be this Thursday around noon (11:40) and they will return to the country on Sunday night (20:30). The delegation will also meet with Pope Francis.
