Total formal employment throughout the country increased 6.1% year-on-year in June, with which 315,000 jobs were added compared to the same month in 2021, reported the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
With this result, 15 months of consecutive growth were recorded since the start of the pandemic, the monetary entity noted.
As for private formal jobs, these continued to advance since April 2021, increasing 7.8% year-on-year in June this year, he noted.
The BCR reported that this increase occurred mainly in the services and commerce sectors, which advanced 11.5% and 7.8% in June, respectively.
Meanwhile, the total wage bill increased 9.1% in June compared to the same month last year, mainly explained by the recovery of jobs.
The wage bill in the private sector increased 10.6% year-on-year in June, mainly due to the increase in the wage bill in the services and commerce sectors, he pointed out.
