In addition, he assures that they have not even accepted that he receive the most basic supplies that are needed in prison, such as toiletries or water tanks.
The activist, who is currently in Area 1, Detachment 1, also denounces that he has not been allowed to receive the medicines he needs either.
Already during his confinement in Guanajay, Díaz Rodríguez was examined by an oncologist specializing in Endocrinology at the general hospital of San Antonio de los Baños, who warned the head of the prison, as well as a prison nurse and doctor, that the The protester had cancer, for which it was necessary to admit him urgently, as well as to administer a reinforced diet based on red meat, milk, yogurt and vegetables, something that the prison authorities have not complied with.
The activist adds that every time he has asked or demanded that the re-educator, First Lieutenant Nivaldo, be taken to the medical post, the soldier has only made excuses.
As for the food, he regrets that the portion is so small that “not even a five-year-old child would be satisfied”, and exemplifies that the current menu basically consists of a “tench water that they call soup” and a “pounded with more bones than fish”.
On the other hand, some inmates point out that the opponent has lost a lot of weight, feels weak and can only walk with difficulty, which is why he spends most of the day lying down.
