Antel’s president, Gabriel Gurméndez, announced on Thursday afternoon that the state-owned company will not carry out rate increases during the month of January, supposedly due to the good economic results it is having.
“The board of ANTEL, the company, is not going to touch or make rate changes now, at this time,” Gurméndez said at a press conference.
“We have been making a very important management effort in the austere and professional management of the company’s expenses,” said the chief and remarked that the current context of strong growth in all markets allows it to maintain current consumer prices.
“We understand that this greater efficiency must be transferred to the benefit of our customers,” he continued, and stressed that in the current market there is an increase in the activity of the competition, and that by market logic of supply and demand, the rates.
