The Higher Technical Institute of the East (ITSE), was built with an investment of close to $200 million.
Of the $27 billion destined for the 2023 budget, the pre-candidate for the free application Katleen Levy, considers that funds should have been allocated for the construction of a second Higher Technical Institute (ITSE) headquarters.
He cataloged as a “true scoundrel” against Panamanian youth the fact that not a single dollar has been allocated to start the ITSE bidding and construction procedures.
Levy’s reflection comes after learning that one of the largest multinational electronic and information technology companies in the world inaugurated courses on artificial intelligence, programming and Python language yesterday at ITSE.
“The opportunity that 250 young people between the ages of 17 and 22 have today with these programming and artificial intelligence courses should be expanded with the construction of more ITSE in West Panama, central provinces and Chiriquí. It is a pity that there is no medium-term vision in education in this administration. If there were more ITSE, more technology multinationals would come to Panama to offer courses for our students”, he declared.
