Petrobras will reduce tomorrow (16) the sale price of gasoline A for fuel distributors by R$ 0.18. The readjustment was informed early this afternoon (15) by the state-owned company.
With the reduction, the liter of gasoline sold by Petrobras will no longer cost BRL 3.71 and will cost BRL 3.53, a drop of around 4.8%.
The company states that “the reduction follows the evolution of reference prices and is consistent with Petrobras’ pricing practice, which seeks to balance its prices with the global market, but without passing on to domestic prices the conjunctural volatility of quotations international markets and the exchange rate”.
As gasoline sold at gas stations receives a mandatory blend of 27% anhydrous ethanol, Petrobras calculates that its share of the final cost of gasoline paid by drivers will be R$ 2.57 for each liter.
