The Neuquén, Río Negro and Chubut mountain ranges were under yellow alert due to intense snowfalls, which in some areas will be accompanied by intense winds, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
While, Most of the province of Santa Cruz is under a yellow alert due to winds from the west sector with speeds between 50 and 65 kilometers per hour. with gusts that could exceed 90 kilometers per hour.
According to the meteorological agency, in the Los Lagos department (which includes Villa La Angostura and Villa Traful), in Neuquén, accumulated snow values between 20 and 45 centimeters are expected for the day, which can be exceeded in the highest areas.
The same situation is expected for Bariloche and the mountain range of Pilcaniyeu and Ñorquincó, in Río Negro; as well as the mountain areas of Cushamen, Futaleufú, Languiñeo and Tehuelches, in Chubut.
The intensity of the snowfall will continue on Saturday in the three provinces and the SMN has already declared an orange alert, so that during the day on Saturday the accumulated snow can reach between 50 and 75 centimeters in height.
There is also an alert for intense winds in the south of Chubut, in the Escalante Plateau, Sarmiento and southwest of Florentino Ameghino, so the SMN recommended that the inhabitants avoid outdoor activities and secure items that can fly.
The same forecast is expected for Santa Cruz in the areas of the plateaus of Deseado, Magallanes, Lago Buenos Aires and Río Chico; and also in the mountain area of these last two localities.
