The government of US President Joe Biden suspended the program known as Stay in Mexico, ordered by former President Donald Trump, which forced thousands of migrants waiting for their asylum hearings from the United States in Mexico, CBS News reported last night in its portal.
The move followed a federal court order that ended a long legal debate over Biden’s efforts to end that policy.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement that it stopped including migrants in the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), a policy known colloquially as Stay in Mexico.
