The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, continues to assign the names of those who will occupy the positions in his government. This August 9, the president announced that César Ferrari will be the new director of National Planning (DNP).

According to the profile published by the Colombian Academy of Economic Sciences, Ferrari is a Civil Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. “He received his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of New York, and at Boston University he obtained his Master’s in Economic Development and his Ph.D. in Economics”.
In addition, “he was General Managing Director of the Central Bank of Peru, Technical Director of the National Planning Institute of Peru, and IMF advisor to the Central Banks of Guinea-Bissau and Angola.

Currently, the new director of the DNP is a full professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in the Department of Economics, where he was also director of the Master’s in Economics.
