Mexico added 14,448 new infections and 85 deaths from Covid-19 as of August 6, 2022, according to the daily report of the federal Ministry of Health. So far in the pandemic, 6,854,180 infections and 328,306 deaths from the new coronavirus respiratory disease have been officially registered.
The agency’s technical report showed that Guanajuato is in third position among the states with the highest viral activity, just below Mexico City and the State of Mexico. Guanajuato has 8,972 active cases, against 23,859 in Mexico City and 10,032 in the State of Mexico.
Unlike Mexico City and the State of Mexico, the two entities with the largest population in the country, Guanajuato is in sixth position among the most populous states.
In total, there are 121,538 people officially infected in Mexico today.
