[Video] Heavy downpour left several neighborhoods flooded in Cali

This Friday there was a heavy downpour in the capital of the Valley that left several neighborhoods in the north and east of the city flooded.

According to Corporal Marco Gómez, coordinator of the Telematics Operations Center of the Cali Volunteer Firefighters, in the south of the city there were heavy rains accompanied by hail, winds and an electrical stormalso indicated that in the north there were several floods.

“Heavy rains occurred in Santiago de Cali, accompanied by hail and an electrical storm; we have the report of several floods in the public road, especially from Carrera 34 to the north, in Carrera 70”, asserted the corporal.

Similarly, the corporal highlighted that flooded neighborhoods were registered in the east of the city; however, he specified that there is no news.

The corporal assured that in the south of Cali the rains continue, especially in the district of Pance, He also stated that due to the heavy rains, the rivers of the capital of the Valley are being monitored.

“At the moment we have no special news, however, it rains with a gust of winds in the south, especially in the village of Pance, in the village of El Peón, La vorágine. We are reviewing the rivers and we are attentive to the call of the community”, the corporal added.

RCN Mundo saw some videos where you can see how a strong flood occurred in the Valle Grande neighborhood, to the east of the city, which covered some vehicles and left homes flooded.

The same way, The community reported that due to strong winds, several trees fell near the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport.

So far, the relief agency has not reported emergencies due to the rains, however, it has dealt with several electrical fires due to lightning.
