President Gabriel Boric She already has a new name for the position of director of the National Customs Service, it is an industrial engineer, Alejandra Arriaza Loeb.

The engineer was chosen by the head of state after a list of candidates proposed by the Council of Senior Public Management, becoming the first woman to hold this position.

Arriaza is an industrial engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, has a master’s degree in Public Management from the University Academy of Christian Humanism.

She has experience in Customs, since she has already worked in various positions within the institution, highlighting the head of the Department of Studies, Technical Deputy Director and Metropolitan Regional Director of the entity.

In addition, the Executive through a statement specified that “from December 2018 to the present, she served as Metropolitan Regional Director of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, a position she also accessed through the Public Senior Management System.”

They also indicated that for the election of such a position (director of the National Customs Service) a call process was initiated through the national media and the Civil Service website in May of this year.

Finally, 135 applications were received, which were reduced to eight people through the Council of Senior Public Management, who carried out the corresponding evaluations to deliver the list of candidates on July 19 to the competent authority.
