The Ambassador of Uruguay to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Laura Dupuy Laserre, asked in recent days to be removed from her post after it emerged that his underage son was selling drugs illegally in the secondary school he attended.
According to data revealed for the newspaper The Observer, the diplomatic official requested “voluntary” secondment when the fact was learned, in order to prevent the matter from escalating to a diplomatic conflict between both countries.
According to the newspaper, the minor was illegally trading narcotics in the high school where he was studying in The Hague, and when the facts were uncovered it was requested that diplomatic immunity be lifted.
At the moment there is no more information in this regard and neither the Presidency nor the Foreign Ministry have commented on it.
