From the Ministry of Health Santa Fe notified that the vaccination process for minors between six months and two years 11 months and 29 days will be postponed until next Friday.
This, as notified by the health authorities of the province, due to logistical problems. However, in Santa Fe they hope to vaccinate approximately 180,000 minors.
According to the schedule, the inoculation process will begin on Friday in the cities of Santa Fe and Rosariowhile in Reconquista and Vera the operation will start on Monday, August 8.
The provincial Minister of Health, Sonia Martorano, assured that the vaccination for this age group will be carried out from Monday to Friday in all the vaccination centers, where it will not be necessary to reserve a shift.
Likewise, as with the rest of the population, the inoculation will be free and free, for which reason Martorano invited all parents to take their children to be vaccinated starting next Friday.
“We invite the population to do this vaccination that is without shift, decentralized and free. That’s two doses 28 days apart. And, also, take advantage of the opportunity to catch up with other vaccines on the schedule, ”he indicated.
In accordance with what is established by the authorities, in Rosario, the Light and Power Union, the North Zone Children’s Hospital, and the Provincial Hospital will be vaccinated. Meanwhile, in Santa Fe, the Cemafé, the Alassia Children’s Hospital, the Coronel Dorrego Health Center, the Alto Verde Health Center, the La Guardia Health Center, among others, will be enabled.
What will the vaccination process be like?
In the province as in the rest of the country, Children under two years of age will receive two doses of Moderna, each with an interval of 28 days. This process is endorsed by the Argentine Society of Pediatrics.
The agency pointed out that “having vaccines against Covid-19 for infants and young children is of special importance since it applies to a group that is particularly vulnerable to respiratory infections, even more so in a context of greater exposure and risk of co-infection with other viruses.” .
